Missions

Calvary Baptist Church is recognized by the International Mission Board as a Global Priority Church of the Southern Baptist Convention. Our responsibilities include:

  • Prioritizing missions and providing missions staff.
  • Praying for missionaries in the unreached world.
  • Providing missions education, information, events, and displays.
  • Promoting growing missions giving.
  • Providing today’s and tomorrow’s missionaries.
  • Participating in missions by adopting unreached people.
  • Personalizing missions through adopting IMB personnel.

Calvary Baptist is actively involved in Missions. For our International Mission efforts, we have chosen to be involved in Haiti and in Southeast Asia. We have a motto concerning missions; we can’t go everywhere, but we can go somewhere. Haiti and Southeast Asia have become our Somewhere. Our activities in both Haiti and Southeast Asia are for the purpose of fulfilling the Great Commission given to us in Matthew 28:16-20.

Our Missions teams recently returned from trips to Haiti and Southeast Asia. The photos below  are of our church members that were conducting Bible School and teaching children while on the Haiti mission trip.

As a church, we believe very strongly that Missions begin here at home. Our men are actively involved in Disaster relief through The North Carolina Baptist Men. After our involvement in the Hurricane Katrina Relief efforts; Calvary  purchased and equipped a Disaster Relief trailer. This trailer is filled with all of the tools needed to go in after a Natural Disaster and help with the rebuilding process. This Mission effort also includes women in our church who have been trained in Disaster Relief.

Our Men’s Ministry group is called “The Men of Boldness”. This ministry meets a vital need in our local community needs as well among our church family and their friends.
